About Eddie.

Eddie Boldizsar

Few photographers are privileged to witness history from the inside. Fewer still preserve those moments for future generations.

My photographic career began in 1986, driven by a fascination with real events, real people, and the power of a single image to tell a story. Inspired by the great documentary photographers of the twentieth century, particularly Don McCullin, I was drawn to photography that captured truth rather than spectacle.

By 1989, I was working professionally and covering major news events, including the Salman Rushdie riots in London. It was a rare opportunity to work as a pure photojournalist, documenting history as it unfolded. Some of the resulting images were subsequently submitted by my agency for journalism recognition, affirming the value of authentic reportage.

Soon afterwards, my career took an unexpected turn into a world that would define the next chapter of my life: the British Royal Family.

At the centre of that world stood Princess Diana.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Diana was not merely a member of the Royal Family. She was arguably the most photographed and influential woman in the world. Every appearance generated international headlines. Every gesture carried meaning. Every image had the potential to become part of history.

Photographing Diana demanded determination, instinct, patience, and no small amount of courage. Competition among photographers was intense. Opportunities were fleeting. Success often depended upon anticipating events before they happened and being in exactly the right place at precisely the right moment.

Over the years, I built an extensive archive of photographs capturing Diana during one of the most extraordinary periods of her life. Many of these images have remained largely unseen by the public for decades.

What makes this collection particularly fascinating is the perspective from which it was created. Contrary to popular belief, the relationship between Diana and the media was often far more nuanced than has been portrayed. Diana understood the power of imagery better than most public figures. She knew how to communicate through photographs, how to shape a narrative, and how to connect directly with people across the world.

From behind the camera, I witnessed a side of this remarkable story that few people experienced first hand.

Today, these photographs stand as historical documents of a unique era in British history. They capture not only Princess Diana's beauty and charisma, but also moments of confidence, vulnerability, determination, and transformation as she evolved into a global icon.

Each print offered from this archive originates from my original photographic files and negatives, carefully preserved and professionally prepared to the highest standards. These are not merely decorative images. They are authentic pieces of photographic history, created by a photographer who was present when the moments occurred.

Collectors, historians, royal enthusiasts, and admirers of fine photography now have the opportunity to acquire rare and exclusive works from this remarkable archive.

While Princess Diana remains the heart of the collection, my archives also contain photographs of many other members of the Royal Family from this historic period. If there is a particular royal figure that interests you, I would be delighted to hear from you.

Eddie Boldizsar lives in Harlow, Essex, England, where he continues to preserve, curate, and present this unique photographic record of modern royal history.
